Installation:  Case Study

TimberStrong Panels were recently used by Green Heron Docks of Jacksonville, Florida. The project included the installation of decking on a new dock, which measured 5' wide by 226' long, with a 12' by 12' end dock section. This equals nearly 1,274 square feet of decking area. The total installation time using two carpenters was 8 hours.  This included determining the panel layout, putting the panels in place, and fastening them to the support structure. A slide show of the installation can be viewed online at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIFz7E89fQg

Standard construction methods would have included cutting each board to length, installing one board at a time, including the time to make sure the boards are in line, and the space between boards is consistent. Once in place, the deck boards would be attached using screws.

To understand what this means in cost savings for labor, the following calculations for standard construction methods are being provided:

In the final analysis: Money Saved - $1440.00!!!
